Spot the trend? Yep, I’m a pretty involved member of the team.. Süfur is a means for me to make the kind of bikes I want to see in the world. I’m writing my own rule book and starting from the ground up.

Origin Story

A man wearing a helmet, black athletic shirt, and black shorts standing next to a purple bicycle on a grassy hill overlooking the ocean and mountains in the distance.

I was the kid who always took apart his birthday presents to see how they worked. Why did they make it like that? What else could this do? I was hungry to learn and quickly begun making my own creations. The process of refining a design to its perfect state fascinated me and so in my teenage years when biking became my obsession it made sense to merge these two worlds that consumed my head.

It was many years before I was in a position to make a bike frame but this hadn’t stopped me jamming note books with designs and ideas. It was by chance that I was working in a bike shop alongside a frame builder when he announced he was selling all his gear, I jumped at the opportunity. Starting my own bike shop at the same time meant frame building was a “spare time” hobby and so for the next ten years it progressed in the shadows.

Fast forward to present day and I have found this “spare time” hobby taking centre stage in my life. Pushing the ethos of refinement I have spent the last couple of years developing a specific frame dedicated to bike packing. Having piloted this design to many podiums including the Silk Road Mountain Race I find myself nearing the “perfect ride”. Once perfect I am looking forward to focusing my attention to the many other bikes I have in my head.

Süfur needs to be more than just an off the shelf product, in a world saturated with options. It must serve purpose and hold up on it’s own. Süfur is a lifetimes passion condensed into something tangible.
